Dr. Knight joined PathGroup in Nashville in 2014 as Medical Director, Cytopathology and Women’s Health. Board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology as well as cytopathology, Dr. Knight received her medical degree from the University Of Mississippi School Of Medicine and performed her residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Knight subsequently completed a Fellowship in Surgical Pathology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Dallas. Prior to merging her practice with PathGroup in 2011, Dr. Knight served as Laboratory Medical Director at Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton, Georgia, and President of Associates in Laboratory Medicine. Over the course of her career, Dr. Knight has been actively involved with the College of American Pathologists (CAP) where she has held many appointments including Vice Chair and Chair of the Federal and State Affairs Committee, where currently serves as an Advisor and an Executive Committee member of the Council on Government and Professional Affairs. She is currently Vice-Speaker for the House of Delegates and an ex officio member of the CAP Board of Governors. With a long standing interest in health care policy, Dr. Knight is the CAP State Issue Advisor for Tennessee and has held leadership roles in and continues to be actively involved with the CAP Annual Policy Conference in Washington, DC.
