A Board Certified Hematopathologist, Dr. Casey completed his fellowship in Hematopathology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Upon completion, Dr. Casey served as Assistant Professor of Pathology at Vanderbilt University, Chief of Anatomic Pathology at Tulane University and as an Attending Pathologist at the Ochsner Clinic. He has held multiple hospital and teaching appointments in the focused arena of Hematopathology. In addition to publications in more than 50 peer reviewed journal articles, book chapters, book reviews, and abstracts, he has also presented multiple platform papers at meetings of the US-Canadian Division of the International Academy of Pathology on subject areas ranging from Immunohistochemistry to special techniques in the diagnosis of leukemia and lymphoma. Based on some of this work, he was the recipient of the 1989 Arthur Purdy Stout Society Award. Dr. Casey completed his Bachelor of Science at the University of New Orleans, a Magna Cum Laude graduate. He earned his Medical Degree from Tulane University School of Medicine, graduating Alpha Omega Alpha. He is Board Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, holds subspecialty boards in Hematology, and is a member of both the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and the Arthur Purdy Stout Surgical Pathologists Society.
